COBie doesn’t get much attention outside construction and facilities circles, but ask anyone handing over a finished building to an owner and they’ll tell you how much rides on getting that data right. Southampton’s construction scene, from student housing schemes to marine and industrial work along the water, has quietly built up a handful of firms that handle this kind of BIM and asset data work properly.
This list looks at companies serving Southampton with COBie deliverables, BIM coordination, and the facility management data that keeps a building running long after the ribbon gets cut. Some work out of offices nearby, others cover the region remotely, but each one shows up when a project needs its data handed over the way it’s supposed to be.

At Powerkh we work as a digital design and consultancy company supporting construction projects that need COBie data prepared and delivered correctly. Southampton is one of the areas where we provide this kind of support, helping project teams turn design and construction information into the structured records an owner actually needs once a building is handed over. Our work centers on taking COBie requirements seriously from the start rather than treating them as a box to tick near the end of a project.
Clash detection and coordination run through Revit, which feeds into the COBie outputs we produce alongside standard BIM documentation. We keep the process fairly straightforward: gather the right data as the project develops, check it against what’s actually required, and hand over something a facilities team can use without having to chase down missing fields later.
Key Highlights:
- Provides COBie data services for Southampton projects
- Works through Revit-based coordination
- Focuses on structured handover documentation
Services:
- COBie information preparation and delivery
- BIM coordination
- Clash detection and resolution
- Model and documentation support

Conclusion
Nobody in a building ever thanks the person who filled in a COBie spreadsheet correctly. The reward for good asset data is invisible: a boiler part gets ordered without three phone calls, a maintenance schedule pulls up the right warranty, a facilities manager finds what they need instead of hunting through a folder of PDFs left behind by a project team that’s long since moved on. That’s a strange thing to build a business around, but it’s exactly why the work matters more than its size suggests.
What’s worth noticing across this list is how little the actual location seems to matter once a project gets past the construction phase. Coordinating steel and concrete still needs people on site, but structuring a spreadsheet doesn’t care much where the desk is. That’s part of why Southampton’s asset data work gets done by such a mixed group, some sitting a short drive from the docks, others logging in from somewhere else entirely. The building doesn’t know the difference. It just needs the information to be right when someone finally goes looking for it.
