MEP Seismic Bracing & Restraint Detailing
When the ground moves, unbraced MEP fails first. Powerkh produces off-site shop drawings and 3D models for seismic bracing and restraint of ductwork, pipe, conduit, and equipment, coordinated to ASCE 7, IBC, and SMACNA seismic requirements for your MEP and fire contractors.

MEP Seismic Bracing & Restraint Detailing Services
MEP seismic bracing detailing is the off-site production of shop drawings and 3D models that show how ductwork, pipe, conduit, and equipment are braced and restrained against earthquake forces. Seismic hangers, brace layouts, and attachments are coordinated to codes such as ASCE 7, IBC, and SMACNA seismic.
Seismic codes require mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems to be braced and restrained so they survive an earthquake and keep egress and life-safety systems intact. Turning those requirements into buildable, coordinated bracing is detailed production work. Since 2018 Powerkh has delivered 400+ BIM and VDC projects for clients across the US, UK, and Europe, and we produce seismic bracing shop drawings and models that MEP and fire contractors can install directly.
We model ductwork, pipe, conduit, cable tray, and equipment in Revit, lay out transverse and longitudinal bracing, seismic hangers, and restraints, and coordinate anchor points and clearances against structure and other trades. We work to your specified codes and the restraint calculations provided by the engineer of record, using our own detailing standards and QA. This is detailing and production support, not stamped engineering. All work is off-site, and we sign an NDA on request.
Why Choose Powerkh for Seismic Detailing
Coordinated, buildable bracing
We lay out braces and restraints against structure and other trades so crews install from clear, clash-checked drawings.
Code-driven detailing
We detail to your specified requirements, including ASCE 7, IBC, and SMACNA seismic, and OSHPD where the project demands it.
Works with your engineer
We coordinate to the restraint calculations from the engineer of record, delivering production detailing, not stamped design.
Hourly, pay after delivery
You get a free quote with honest hour estimates and pay only once the coordinated bracing drawings are delivered and accepted.
Our Seismic Detailing Services
Duct seismic bracing
Transverse and longitudinal bracing layouts and seismic hangers for ductwork, detailed to SMACNA seismic and project codes.
Pipe seismic restraint
Bracing and restraint detailing for plumbing, mechanical, and fire piping, with hanger and anchor points coordinated to structure.
Conduit & cable tray bracing
Seismic bracing layouts for electrical conduit, cable tray, and busway, coordinated with other MEP runs and supports.
Equipment restraint detailing
Anchorage and restraint details for mechanical and electrical equipment, coordinated to structure and manufacturer requirements.
Bracing shop drawings
Fully coordinated seismic bracing shop drawings and layouts that MEP and fire contractors install directly on site.
Restraint calc coordination
We incorporate the engineer of record restraint calculations into the model so brace types and spacing match the approved design.

FAQ
What codes do you detail seismic bracing to?
We detail to the codes and specifications your project requires, commonly ASCE 7 for seismic design forces, the IBC, and SMACNA seismic restraint guidelines for ductwork. On healthcare and California projects we can work to OSHPD requirements. We follow the criteria set by your engineer of record.
Do you provide stamped seismic engineering?
No. Powerkh provides detailing and production support, not stamped engineering. We coordinate to the seismic restraint calculations and criteria from your engineer of record and turn them into buildable, coordinated bracing shop drawings and models. Structural certification remains with the licensed engineer on the project.
Which MEP systems can you brace and restrain?
We detail seismic bracing and restraint for ductwork, plumbing and mechanical piping, fire protection piping, electrical conduit, cable tray, busway, and mechanical and electrical equipment. We coordinate braces, hangers, and anchors against structure and other trades so everything installs without conflict.
What do you need to start a seismic detailing project?
MEP drawings or models, the project seismic specifications and applicable codes, and the restraint calculations or criteria from the engineer of record. Structural background models help us coordinate anchor points. If you only have 2D MEP drawings, we can model the systems first as a separate step.
How much does seismic bracing detailing cost?
Powerkh uses hourly pricing. After reviewing your MEP scope, seismic specs, and the engineer calculations, we provide a free quote with accurate hour estimates. All production is off-site, we sign an NDA on request, and you pay only after we deliver the coordinated bracing drawings.
