VDC & BIM for Industrial Plants

Process plants are the densest clash environments in construction, where piping, equipment, and steel fight for the same space. Powerkh delivers VDC and BIM for industrial facilities, coordinating heavy 3D models so conflicts are cleared before steel is cut.

VDC & BIM Services for Industrial and Process Plants

Industrial plant BIM is the modeling and coordination of process plants, factories, warehouses, and utilities in a data-rich 3D environment. Process piping, equipment, and structural steel are modeled and clash-checked, often from laser scans of existing conditions, to ensure constructability before fabrication and installation.

Industrial facilities are unforgiving to coordinate. Large-bore process piping, heavy equipment, cable racks, and structural steel all compete for the same congested space, and a single missed clash can cost days of rework in the field. Powerkh has delivered 400+ BIM and VDC projects for clients across the US, UK, and Europe, and we bring that rigor to plants, factories, and utilities, building coordinated 3D models that expose conflicts and constructability problems before anyone reaches the site.

We model to your target LOD and run heavy clash detection in Navisworks and Solibri across piping, equipment, and steel. For brownfield retrofits we build accurate as-builts from laser scan point clouds, so new work fits the plant as it really stands. Our standards, templates, and Dynamo scripts keep large multidiscipline models consistent and fast to check. We work off-site, default to imperial with metric supported, and sign an NDA on request.

Why Choose Powerkh for Industrial BIM

Built for heavy clash detection

We coordinate the congested overlap of process piping, equipment, and steel where industrial rework is most costly.

Scan-based as-builts

We model accurate existing conditions from laser scan point clouds so brownfield retrofits fit the plant as it stands.

Constructability focus

We check access, clearances, and install sequence in the model so crews build it right the first time on site.

Fast, hourly pricing

You pay only for the hours the work needs, with a free quote up front and payment only after we deliver the model.

Our Industrial BIM & VDC Services

Process piping modeling

Large-bore and small-bore piping modeled in AutoCAD Plant 3D and Revit and coordinated with equipment and structure.

Clash detection

Heavy multidiscipline clash detection in Navisworks and Solibri to clear piping, equipment, and steel conflicts before fabrication.

Equipment and structure

Process equipment, platforms, and structural steel modeled and coordinated so supports and access work as built.

Scan-to-BIM as-builts

Accurate existing-condition models built from laser scan point clouds for brownfield tie-ins and retrofits.

3D coordination

A federated 3D model that brings every discipline together for review, coordination, and constructability checks.

Warehouses and utilities

Factories, warehouses, and utility buildings modeled and coordinated alongside their process and MEP systems.

Our Industrial BIM Process

  1. Brief and quote

We review your drawings, scan data, and target LOD, agree the coordination scope and deliverables, and give a free quote.

  2. As-built or model setup

We register point clouds and build existing conditions, or set up a new model to your templates and standards.

  3. Discipline modeling

We model piping, equipment, and steel to the agreed LOD, keeping each discipline coordinated in a shared environment.

  4. Clash and constructability

We run clash tests in Navisworks and Solibri, log conflicts, and check access and install sequence with your team.

  5. Delivery and revisions

You receive the federated model, clash reports, and as-builts, with a round of revisions included.

Software We Use

We coordinate industrial plants with the standard plant and BIM toolset, extended with clash detection and automation.

  • Autodesk Revit
  • Autodesk Navisworks
  • AutoCAD Plant 3D
  • Autodesk Dynamo
  • Solibri

FAQ

Can you model from laser scan data?

Yes. Scan-to-BIM is core to our industrial work. We register and clean point clouds from laser scans, then model accurate existing conditions so new piping, equipment, and steel tie into a brownfield plant exactly as it stands today.

How do you handle clash detection on dense plants?

We federate the discipline models and run structured clash tests in Navisworks and Solibri across piping, equipment, cable racks, and steel. We group and prioritize clashes, resolve them with your engineers through review cycles, and track them to closure.

Do you check constructability?

Yes. Beyond hard clashes we review maintenance access, install clearances, and build sequence in the model, so congested areas can actually be assembled and serviced once the plant is built.

Do you provide field work or stamped engineering?

No. Powerkh is an off-site BIM and VDC production partner. We model, coordinate, and clash-resolve, and we do not perform on-site work or provide stamped engineering. We support your engineers and contractors, who retain design and construction responsibility.

How much does industrial BIM cost?

Powerkh uses hourly pricing. After reviewing your drawings, scan data, and target LOD, we provide a free quote with accurate hour estimates, and you pay only after we deliver the coordinated model.
