3D Architectural Modeling
Architects need geometry they can shape and share early, long before a BIM model exists. Powerkh builds concept, massing, and presentation 3D models in SketchUp, Rhino, and 3ds Max so you can study options, test a site, and win the room.

3D Architectural Modeling & Concept Design Services
3D architectural modeling is the creation of design-stage three-dimensional geometry for a building or scheme. Concept, massing, context, and presentation models are built in tools like SketchUp, Rhino, and 3ds Max to explore form, test options, and communicate intent before data-rich BIM begins.
Design happens in three dimensions long before a project reaches documentation. A workable 3D model lets an architect test massing against a site, compare early options, and place a scheme in its context without the overhead of a full BIM database. Powerkh has delivered 400+ BIM and VDC projects for clients across the US, UK, and Europe, and we bring that same discipline to fast, flexible concept modeling built to your sketches, references, and design intent.
We model in SketchUp, Rhino, and 3ds Max, matching the tool to the task, then hand off clean geometry your team can edit, render, or carry forward into Revit. Our internal standards and templates keep layers, groups, and naming consistent so a model stays useful as it grows. We work off-site to your brief, support imperial and metric units, and can sign an NDA on request before any files change hands.
Why Choose Powerkh for 3D Modeling
Built for early design
Light, editable geometry made for option studies and massing, not the overhead of a full BIM database you do not need yet.
The right tool per task
We model in SketchUp, Rhino, or 3ds Max depending on the goal, from quick massing to complex form and presentation geometry.
Clean handoff to your team
Consistent layers, groups, and naming from our templates mean your architects can edit and extend the model without a rebuild.
Fast, hourly pricing
You pay only for the hours a model needs, with a free quote up front and payment only after we deliver the geometry.
Our 3D Architectural Modeling Services
Concept and massing models
Simple volumetric studies that let you weigh height, footprint, and form quickly across several early design options.
Context and site models
Surrounding buildings, terrain, and streetscape modeled from survey or map data to place your scheme in its real setting.
Presentation models
Refined geometry with materials and detail prepared for client meetings, competition boards, and stakeholder review.
SketchUp modeling
Fast, editable SketchUp models with organized components and scenes your team can drive in design meetings.
Rhino and NURBS modeling
Precise Rhino geometry for curved facades, complex roofs, and free-form massing that box modelers cannot describe.
CAD to 3D conversion
We turn your 2D AutoCAD plans and elevations into coordinated 3D geometry ready for study or presentation.
Our 3D Modeling Process
-
Brief and quote
We review your sketches, references, and CAD, agree the modeling tool, level of detail, and deliverables, and give a free quote.
-
Base geometry
We build the core massing or context model to the agreed units and organize it with our standard layers and naming.
-
Review and refine
We share a working model early so you can direct form, proportion, and detail before we invest time in refinement.
-
Detailing and materials
We add the detail, materials, and scenes your presentation or handoff needs, keeping the model clean and editable.
-
Delivery and revisions
You receive native files in your required format, with a round of revisions to fine-tune the geometry.
Software We Use
We model with the tools architects use most, chosen to match each stage of early design and presentation.

FAQ
How is 3D architectural modeling different from BIM modeling?
Concept modeling produces lightweight, editable geometry for early design, massing, and presentation, usually in SketchUp, Rhino, or 3ds Max. BIM modeling produces a data-rich Revit model with parametric objects, quantities, and documentation. We offer both, and we can carry a concept model forward into a full BIM model when your project is ready.
Do you produce renderings as well?
We focus on the modeling itself, but photorealistic imagery is a related Powerkh service. We can build the model and then render it, or hand you clean geometry your own visualization team can light and render. Tell us the end goal and we will scope the modeling and rendering together.
Can you work from just my hand sketches?
Yes. Hand sketches, reference images, rough plans, or a written brief are enough to start a concept or massing model. If you have survey data or CAD, we use it for accuracy, but early-stage work does not require finished drawings.
What file formats do you deliver?
We deliver native SketchUp, Rhino, or 3ds Max files plus common exchange formats such as DWG, OBJ, FBX, or 3DM. If you plan to move into BIM, we can prepare the geometry so it imports cleanly into Revit.
How much does 3D architectural modeling cost?
Powerkh uses hourly pricing. After reviewing your references, the number of options, and the level of detail, we provide a free quote with accurate hour estimates, and you pay only after we deliver the model.
