9 Best COBie Companies in Glasgow (2026)

COBie sounds like one more acronym construction teams have to keep straight, but it solves a real problem: what happens to all that design and construction data once a building is finished and handed over. In Glasgow, where renovation work sits right alongside new builds and a fair share of the city’s infrastructure is getting on in years, that handover step matters more than people often expect. A poorly structured data set means facilities managers end up chasing down equipment specs that should have been sitting in a spreadsheet from day one.

The companies below work across BIM coordination, COBie data production, and the broader modeling and documentation that feeds into it. Some are Glasgow-based specialists, others operate across the UK or further afield but bring COBie and BIM coordination expertise to projects in the city. Here’s a look at who’s doing that work and how to get in touch.

At Powerkh we work across the UK market on BIM coordination, with a number of our projects tied to construction activity in Glasgow. Our focus is on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing integration, keeping design intent consistent from the early planning stages right through to on-site verification. That matters more in a city like Glasgow, where a lot of construction work involves retrofitting older buildings alongside new development, and coordination gaps tend to surface fast once trades start clashing on site. Clash detection and resolution runs through Revit, working across architectural, structural, and MEP systems together rather than treating each discipline separately. We put together models and documentation that hold up to local project requirements without losing technical accuracy along the way. Aspectos destacados:

  • Digital design and consultancy firm
  • Active across the UK market
  • Works with Revit for coordination
  • Handles architectural, structural, and MEP integration

Silicon Engineering Consultants works out of Ahmedabad, India, providing CAD and BIM outsourcing support for firms in Glasgow and elsewhere in the UK. The company covers a range of AEC disciplines, from structural and MEP drafting to full BIM modeling, with a team of engineers, architects, and detailers handling that work for firms that would rather hand off the CAD and BIM side of a project than build up that capacity in house.

On the BIM side, the company produces COBie data alongside its modeling work, converting point cloud scans into usable BIM models and building out asset information that carries through from design into handover. Scan to BIM, clash detection, and shop drawing production round out the rest of its service list, aimed mostly at contractors and design teams that need drafting and coordination work done at scale.

Conclusión

Nobody notices good COBie data at handover. It gets noticed two years later, when someone in facilities management is standing in a plant room trying to figure out which valve controls what, and the spreadsheet either has an answer or it doesn’t. Glasgow’s mix of new builds sitting next to retrofitted Victorian stock makes this less theoretical than it sounds – a lot of the coordination work in this city is about layering modern systems onto buildings that were never designed for them, and that’s exactly the kind of project where sloppy asset data turns into a maintenance headache down the line.

What tends to separate useful information exchange from a box-ticking exercise usually isn’t the software or the certifications on a company’s letterhead. It’s whether anyone actually checked the data against what got built on site, rather than just what was drawn months earlier. That’s a less glamorous thing to ask a potential partner about than their client list, but it’s probably the more useful question.
